My husband and I are thankful that we turned to attorney Adolfo Mondragón when our condominium board threatened to evict our tenants. Although the by-laws allow tenants to have pets, the board president freaked out when she learned that our tenants owned a rescue pit bull. She claimed that we breached the leasing rules by allowing a nuisance in the form of a "vicious" dog and served our tenants with a 10-day notice to quit the unit. Attorney Mondragón, however, responded with a letter detailing a legal argument so compelling that the condominium board never filed for eviction.

When my father died, he left a substantial amount of money in the bank. It was less than $100,000, so I didn't need to go through probate court. But, even though my father had a Last Will & Testament leaving me, his only child, his entire estate, the bank would not give me the money. Thankfully, attorney Adolfo Mondragón prepared a small estate affidavit that did the trick and made the process fast and painless during a difficult time.

One night while driving home, a suburban police officer stopped me and gave me three tickets for moving violations and 1 ticket for failure to show proof of insurance. I couldn't take time off work to go to court and the judge found me guilty in my absence and fined me just over $1000. A few days later, I got a letter from the Secretary of State's Office informing me that my driver's license was suspended because of the convictions. To make matters worse, I needed my driver's license because I had to drive my brother to Arizona in two weeks. Fortunately, I hired attorney Adolfo Mondragón. Not only did he motion my case up a few days before my scheduled roadtrip, he was also able to convince the prosecutor to drop 3 of the 4 tickets thereby allowing me to pay a small fee and to reinstate my license later that day.

When I was 19 years old, I pleaded guilty to committing a drug felony and served 3 years of probation. I turned my life around in the 24 years since. Indeed, I got sober, learned a trade, got married, and raised a family. Nevertheless, my criminal record has kept me from getting work on government projects, which usually pay higher wages. Because my record cannot be expunged or sealed, attorney Adolfo Mondragón encouraged me to seek a pardon from the Governor. The petition for executive clemency that attorney Mondragón wrote on my behalf was so persuasive that the State's Attorney did not oppose it. Moreover, the opening statement attorney Mondragón gave at my hearing in Springfield was so complete that a member of the Prisoner Review Board said it had virtually answered all the questions they had prepared to ask me. My petition is now on the Governor's desk and thanks to attorney Mondragón's hard work I'm hopeful it will be granted soon.

I gave my son his biological father’s last name because I hoped that his biological father would live with us and that we would be a family. Unfortunately, my son’s biological father abandoned us. Over the years, having a different last name than my son made difficult even things like taking him to Mexico to visit his grandparents or enrolling him in school. Consequently, I needed to change my son's last name to my last name, but changing a minor’s name is difficult without the consent of both parents. Thankfully, attorney Adolfo Mondragón was able to convince the judge to default my son’s biological father and grant the name change petition.
